The Blackberry Playbook is one of many exciting handheld tablets that were recently released for sale to the general public. This product was released April 19th 2011.

Some special features include 1080p video playback, 3 megapixel front camera as well as 5 megapixel rear camera.

Also a display screen of 7 inches with a weight of .9 pounds (the lightest tablet on the market).

It was manufactured by Quanta Computer but developed by Research in Motion.

Quanta Computer

Quanta Computer makes notebooks (computers) for an abundance of computer companies.. The companies include Lenovo, Dell, Apple, Hewlett-Packard, and Gateway along with several more. It is the largest manufacturer in the world when it comes to making notebook computers. They were founded and located in Taiwan in 1988 by Barry Lam, who is also Chairman of the Board.

Research in Motion

Research in Motion is a company located in Canada that markets, manufactures, designs telecommunications and wireless devices. They are also the makers of Blackberry. They also provide solutions for internet and internet based programs, email, and instant messengers. This company was founded by Mike Lazaridis in 1984.

It is available in 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB and has stereo speakers. As with other tablets with cameras the BlackBerry Playbook has the capability to have you speak to friends and family located miles away as long as you are connected to a WiFi network. It of course has a multi-touch screen with 3D graphics features as well.
